Mother Theresa

* If faith is lacking , it is because there is too much selfishness, too much concern for
personal gain, for faith to be true, it has to be generous and loving. Love and faith go
together; they complete each other.

* Before God we are all poor.

* The young are builders of tomorrow. Youth today is in search of selflessness, and when it
finds it, is prepared to embrace it.

* O dear sick one, how much dearer still you are to me because you represent Christ, What
a privilege I have to be able to tend to you.

* Our words are useless unless they come from the bottom of the heart. Words that do not
give the light of Christ only make the darkness worse.

* Our mission is to convey the love of God. who is not a dead God but a living God.

* With Jesus, everything is possible because God is love.

* The work is only an expression of the love we have for God. Loving others is an expression
of our love for God.

* Holiness consists in doing God's will joyfully.

* If you learn the art of self-restraint and thoughtfulness, you will become more and more like
Christ.

* The poor are God's gift; they are our love.

* Mothers are heart of the home; they build family life by wanting, loving, and taking care of
their children.

* The greatest sin is the lack of love and charity, the terrible indifference to those on the
fringe of the social system, who are exposed to exploitation, corruption, want, and disease.

* Love is always in season.

* We try to combat abortion by adoption.

* Deep faith in action is love, and love in action is service.

* In order to survive, love has to be nourished by sacrifices.

* I wanted to serve the poor simply for love of God.

* We must learn to forgive if we want truly to love.

* Suffering in itself is nothing, but suffering that shares in the Passion of Christ is a wonderful
gift…and a sign of love.

* If we really want peace in the world, let us love one another, in the family.

* Being happy with God means:
  To love as He loves.
  To help as He helps.
  To give as He gives.
  To serve as He serves.

* Do not look for Jesus in far off lands; He is not there. He is in you.

* These are a few of the ways we can practice humility:
Speak as little as possible of oneself.
       Mind one's own business.
       Avoid curiosity.
Do not want to manage other people's affairs.
       Accept contradiction and correction cheerfully.
Pass over the mistakes of others.
      Accept blame when innocent.
Yield to the will of others.
      Accept insults and injuries.
Accept being slighted, forgotten, and disliked.
Be kind and gentle even under provocation.
Do not seek to be specially loved and admired.
      Never stand on one's dignity.
Yield in discussion even though one is right.
     Choose always the hardest.

* Work without love is slavery.

* Total surrender consists in giving ourselves completely to God, because God has given
Himself to us.

* There is no limit to God's love. It is without measure and its depth cannot be sounded.

* We have to love until it hurts. It is not enough to say, "I love." We must put that into a living
action.

* The world today is hungry not only for bread but hungry for love; hungry to be wanted, to
be loved. They're hungry to feel that presence of Christ.

* Love has a hem to her garment that reaches the very dust. It sweeps the stains from the
streets and lanes, and it can, it must.

* It is in loving our Lord and our neighbor that our humility will flower, and it is in being
humble that our love will become real, devoted, and ardent.
